The basic price is the price quoted by the shipyard. However, what is included in this basic price can vary greatly from shipyard to shipyard. One shipyard may not include sails or charge extra for rigging, while another may offer a boat that is ready to sail around the world. As these prices are therefore not comparable and are sometimes deliberately kept low for marketing purposes, with the corresponding lack of equipment, YACHT attempts to provide aPrice comparability by defining the included equipment for two price categories and adding the respective equipment, if it is subject to a surcharge, to the basic price.
All prices include the German VAT valid at the time of publication.Value added tax is indicated. You can also see to whichTiming the prices were determined. This information is important as the editorial team cannot constantly update all prices in all articles. This is all the more important as some manufacturers currently have three or more price lists per year due to rapidly rising costs. If the prices are not provided with this information, the date of publication of the article applies.
When making comparisons or expressing an interest in buying, it is therefore essential to compare the prices quoted by us with acurrent price list of the shipyard can be compared. This is all the more important the older the article or the indication of the price determination period is.
This price category indicates how much you have to pay to be able to set sail directly with the YACHT. In other words, only the bare essentials to meet the requirements of a sailing yacht and the safety requirements. The individual items of equipment are listed below. If these are all included in the basic price of a provider, the basic price would be the same as the ready-to-sail price. If only some of the equipment is included or none at all, the basic price is increased by the corresponding amounts listed in the shipyard's price list. If the shipyard does not offer certain equipment, guide values will be used for this, which YACHT determines from standard market prices. If equipment items are included in packages, these packages and the additional equipment contained therein are specified in the respective test. It is precisely because of such package offers that the "ready-to-sail price" is not one hundred per cent comparable, as it does not take into account equipment that goes beyond the list and may already be included in the standard equipment. This equipment is therefore not deducted from the "price ready to sail".
The ready-to-sail price only includes the necessary basic equipment. The additional equipment options beyond this are just as interesting, at least for seaworthy yachts, which is why we have also defined a "comfort price" for this. This represents the greatest price comparability and often also clearly shows how much actually has to be spent to bring the yacht in question into the desired condition. Here too, certain equipment may already be included in the ready-to-sail price or even in the basic price, so the surcharge varies depending on this.
(The comfort price can only be determined and stated if the possible equipment of the boat in question allows this. Particularly in the case of dinghies, small cruisers or daysailers, this comfort price and, depending on the boat, the ready-to-sail price is not determined, as everything necessary is usually already included in the basic price).
