With the Dufour 44, the yacht builders in La Rochelle are now presenting a worthy successor to the popular 430 Grand Large as a world premiere. The shipyard has generously adopted the design on deck from its smaller sister, the Dufour 41 (YACHT 13/23 test), which will also be on show as a new product at the trade fair in Düsseldorf. However, the larger boat now has more space for the helmsman and crew to work on the winches. In addition, the layout in the cockpit is even more focussed on active sport. Below deck, three or four cabins with their own wet room are available.
The conditions for a successful market launch could hardly be better for the Arcona 50. After all, the beautiful Swede has been nominated for the European Yacht of the Year award and is now making her world premiere in Düsseldorf. The detailed test was published in the previous issue of YACHT, issue 2/2024.
The Giebelstadt-based company is the last large-scale production shipyard to launch a new yacht for the popular 14-metre class, focusing on maximum volume and comfort. With the new Oceanis 37.1, the industry leader completes the current generation of its cruising range and delivers an attractive addition to the popular eleven metre hull length class. In the YACHT test, Marc Lombard's design impresses with a simple, very straightforward style and an all-round harmonious overall package. And the sailing characteristics are good.
The innovative brand presented its first model, the Code 0, in France in 2012. Since then, the modern daysailer with a classic look has been redesigned and modernised several times, including below deck. The Code 0.1, which is almost ten metres long, is now available in the new "Sun Deck" version with a completely open stern. Black Pepper builds the yachts in the Code series entirely from carbon fibre. The boats are also equipped with a swivelling keel.
Hanseyachts in Greifswald announces a new DS48 for the Moody line and thus enters the first renewal cycle for the exclusive programme of unparalleled deck saloon yachts. The interior design now offers even more variance, and the innovative boat with cockpit and saloon on one level surprises with many new details. The design is once again the work of Bill Dixon Yacht Design. The Moody DS48 is making its world debut in Düsseldorf.
Sports boat or compact performance cruiser? The new Flaar 24 from Hungary lies right in between. The sporty keelboat is built entirely from carbon fibre and weighs just 750 kilograms. Thanks to its swivelling keel, it can also be easily trailered and launched via the ramp.
The Hanse 410 is now the third new boat from the shipyard in co-operation with the designers from Berret-Racoupeau in France. With its unadorned lines, the boat has a solid foundation to stand up to the equally strong competition in the twelve-metre class. The comprehensive YACHT test can be read in issue 19/2023.
The shipyard of Marion Koch and Norbert Sedlacek Koch has built an open cruising catamaran made of volcanic fibre, balsa wood and bio-based epoxy. The Volcat 16, which has a very high load capacity, is designed to accommodate three to four people.
