The Fraunhofer Centre for Maritime Logistics and Services is testing the AI-supported monitoring system "KIRMES" on the Kiel Fjord until the end of 2026. It is designed to automatically recognise unusual ship movements and alert the relevant safety authorities in the event of anomalies. To this end, it collects extensive data, including information from pleasure craft.
