The Schwerin insurance broker offers better conditions for boat hull insurance - but only for an extra charge

The Neubacher Boots-Yacht-Schiffsversicherungsmakler GmbH from Schwerin offers all existing and new customers the option of agreeing so-called premium clauses in order, according to Jörg Neubacher, "to further round off and optimise the insurance cover if required".

One of the new additional insurance options is that, in emergency situations, towing costs to the nearest repair location incurred due to technical manoeuvring incapacity are reimbursed up to an amount of 5,000 euros, even if there is no hull damage for which compensation is payable.

Other premium benefits include the waiver of the defence of gross negligence after five claim-free years, albeit limited to an amount of 10,000 euros.

In the event of grounding, the insurance covers the full inspection costs and the customer's agreed excess is waived.

Machinery damage is included in the premium clauses up to 36 months after completion of the yacht and after any warranty and guarantee claims have been unsuccessfully asserted. This period can be extended by taking out additional machinery insurance. Osmosis damage is also insured within the first 48 months after completion of the yacht.

And in the event of burglary of the insured yacht, no excess is deducted for the claim.

Premium example for a sailing yacht with cruising area EU inland, Baltic and North Sea, sum insured: 60,000 euros, deductible: 500 euros:
Hull premium without premium clauses: 345.70 euros/year, with premium clauses: 379.97 euros/year.

Each boat owner must decide individually whether it makes sense to take out the additional insurance cover. However, before rushing to sign up, it is definitely worth checking the offers of other insurance providers. Some may have similar or even better conditions in their yacht hull terms and conditions at no extra charge or offer additional benefits.

You can compare offers from several boat insurance brokers and brokers quickly and easily via the Online insurance service from YACHT online make.
