- 78th North Sea WeekMore than 1,500 sailors regularly gather on the rock in the North Sea at Whitsun. After many regattas around the island, the Pantaenius Round Skagen Race to Kiel with 65 yachts takes place on Monday as the crowning event. Under www.pantaenius.de/tracking interested parties can follow the races and manoeuvres live for the first time this year! In particular, the two carbon racers from the Knierim shipyard in Kiel, "Opal" with a canting keel, and the brand new Ker 51 "Varuna" will certainly deliver exciting duels. - 90th Rhine WeekAround 130 boats and yachts come together each year for the longest and oldest river regatta. The course leads from Cologne-Porz in five stages over 160 river kilometres to Rees. The start takes place on Saturday at 10.30 am. www.rheinwoche.org
- Eel regattaThe cult regatta from Kiel to Eckernförde starts on Saturday at 10 a.m. in front of Düsterbrook harbour. More than 120 yachts are expected. Short-distance regattas are planned for Sunday in Eckernförde Bay, accompanied by a supporting programme on the shore. www.aalregatta.de
