The start of the In-Port Race off Lorient
The starting signal for stage 9 is given at 5.00 pm outside Lorient. With a stopover in The Hague, the race heads to Gothenburg. The start will be broadcast

For Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, it's just something of an exhibition race. In purely sailing terms, Ian Walker's team can no longer be caught, they would have to abandon the leg and receive an additional two penalty points to lose the overall victory.

In contrast, the following places are still very exciting: there are only six points between Team Brunel in second place and Team Alvimedica in fifth place. So any conceivable shift is still possible between them. Only Team SCA and Team Vestas Wind in sixth and seventh place can no longer improve under normal circumstances.

Today at 5.00 p.m., the fleet will first sail from Lorient to The Hague, where it will make a stopover. This is a concession to the Dutch team Brunel, who will be given the opportunity to enjoy a harbour party. The expected arrival time in The Hague is Thursday evening or Friday morning. The race will then continue on Saturday at 12.00 noon, with the teams resuming the race in the same order and with the same time intervals as when they arrived.

They are expected to arrive in Gothenburg on Monday or Tuesday.

The start in The Hague today will be broadcast live and can be watched via the Race page or the app can be tracked.
