Russian millionaire Oleg Zherebtsov retired from business life in search of adventure. He financed the team and sailed with them. The ship is a Rob Humphreys design. However, the Brit has been out of the open-formula scene since Ellen MacArthur's "Kingfisher". The sprayrail approach is interesting, but whether it will be the deciding factor is questionable. Austrian skipper Andreas Hanakamp (l.) is inexperienced in this type of race, while his Dutch navigator Wouter Verbraak (r.) was on board "Djuice Dragons" in 2002 and worked as a weather router for a long time. Zherebtsov's motto: "Arrive in St Petersburg in one piece."
