The two-boat campaign was the first to be launched. The design was created by Juan Kouyoumdjian, who drew the winner of the last race "ABN Amro One". This boat was a training platform. As it was already a further development of the "ABN Amro Two" and Ericsson built two new boats, the one currently in use is the only version 4. The Brazilian Torben Grael (l.), who came third in 2006, only became skipper when John Kostecki, winner with "illbruck" in 2002, retired in mid-2007. Grael has strengths in the Inport Races and won Olympic gold in the Star boat in 2004. Navigator Jules Salter (r., GBR) was already on board the "Pirates" in 2006.
