When the high-tech catamarans engage in a thrilling race on the water, the island becomes a meeting place for international sailing fans. Last year, around 13,000 sailing enthusiasts watched the spectacle from the stands. According to the organisers, around 1,000 more seats will be available this year. Nevertheless, anyone wishing to be there in person should act quickly.
SailGP is regarded as the Formula 1 of sailing – fast, spectacular and close to the spectators. That is precisely what makes the event in Sassnitz so appealing. Against the backdrop of Rügen, international teams compete against one another for the top places.
Prizes with a total value of 1,400 euros
For anyone who hasn’t got a ticket yet, here’s a special opportunity: we’re giving away ten day tickets, each worth just under 100 euros, for the grandstand, courtesy of the Germany SailGP Team by Deutsche Bank. This will allow you to watch the race right from the grandstand.
