The Risør-Trebatfestivalen 2012 was also attended by the rescue cutter of the same name
At the Trebatfestivalen in southern Norway at the weekend, there were not only plenty of beautiful boats, but also plenty of wind. See for yourself!

The Risør festival provided the perfect backdrop for Nico Krauss. The Hamburg-based photographer, who has been a regular guest at the major classic events in Europe for years and has had a decisive influence on YACHT classic with his images, travelled to the archipelago in his VW bus. What he experienced last weekend was one big photo frenzy.

"There were few participants in the regattas," he told YACHT online, "and the event is relatively small overall. But here, very friendly hosts meet a large, good-humoured audience. That makes the Trebatfestivalen (wooden boat festival) in the archipelago is absolutely worth seeing."

Unlike other events for classic yachts, visitors to Risør have to pay an entrance fee. It has become a harbour festival at which historical trades demonstrate their work - from traditional boat builders to sailmakers and blacksmiths. There is also a music festival with many concerts. And, of course, the boats!

This summer, it was mainly local owners of wooden yachts and workboats who gathered. The regattas started right in front of the pier and led into the surrounding archipelago - a unique sight in the fresh breeze, sunshine and clear air.
