A total of 103 Swans had registered for the birthday regatta off Turku
The Swan birthday regatta in Turku came to an end at the weekend. However, the celebrations to mark the shipyard's 50th birthday continue

The Oras Swan 50th Anniversary Regatta took place in Turku from 27 to 31 July with a record number of 103 swans from different nations. And there was another anniversary to celebrate: the Turku Yacht Club, the host, is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year.

With one exception, the first places in the individual races remained firmly in Finnish hands despite the international line-up. Only the Swan 45 race was won by the Dane Erik Berth with "Tarok". Kenneth and Patrick Blomster took first place in the Racing LYS 1 Class with their Swan 39 "Antama". Leif Ramm-Schmidt, the son of the very first Swan owner Heinz Ramm-Schmidt, took victory in the Racing LYS 2 Class with the Swan 37 "Tarantella II". Skipper Mikko Jurva won the Cruising LYS 1 Class with the Swan 441 "Odette". Finally, the Swan 38 "Infant" with Antti, Lilli and Jyrki Kivelä won first place in the Cruising LYS 2 Class. The Ola Hallman Memorial Cup for the best preserved Swan went to Matti and Sejla Hihnaha for their Swan 36 "Leda".

The detailed regatta results are available on the Website to find. Meanwhile, the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Nautor's Swan continue. The final event will be the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo in September.
