Sven Erik Horsch (28) won the ISAF Grade 3 Junior Match Race in Dubai with Alex Nibbe, Felix Simmendinger, Mirko Masek and Jörg Müller-Arnecke. The team from the Norddeutscher Regatta Verein defeated India in the final.
The last race was decided in the pre-start by a penalty decision against the Indians. When they had to take the 360-degree penalty shortly before the finish, the German boat overtook.
In the semi-final, Horsch defeated the women's team from Finland. The Italians led by Simon Ferrarese defeated the Finns in the small final.
The first person to congratulate the German team was His Royal Highness King Constantine, the Honorary President of the ISAF. He watched the final with the President of the ISAF, Göran Petterson, from a motorboat.
