The 11th Solaris Cup attracted 80 yachts from 37 to 111 feet and almost 1,000 participants to Porto Rotondo. Over four days, they raced in three groups off Sardinia and celebrated together on land.

The Solaristi have gone one better and once again organised one of the biggest one-make regattas in the world with the 11th Solaris Cup. Last year's edition of the Solaris Cup On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the shipyard, 85 yachts competed against each other, so in 2025 a remarkable 80 Solaris crews and almost 1,000 sailors came to Porto Rotondo, including ten German starters.

Across the line with 80 yachts

This year's edition of the Solaris Cup presented an impressive range of participants. From the twelve-metre Solaris 37 to the 33-metre Solaris 111, everything was represented. The latter did not make an appearance on the regatta course, where the Solaris 74RS "Good Game" was the longest starter. The race organisers divided the fleet into three groups according to length, but this year they all started together - a spectacular sight for participants and spectators alike. On courses resembling a butterfly silhouette and around the natural landmarks of the islands of Mortorio and Soffi, the race took place over two days in the Gulf of Porto Rotondo.

Exciting races off Sardinia

Light winds challenged the crews at the start. Despite the difficult conditions, the entire fleet completed a 13.5 nautical mile course. In Group 0, the Solaris 64RS "Good Game" skippered by Maurizio Bertozzi came out on top. The Solaris 55 "Giovi" with Paolo Bastiani at the helm dominated Group B, while in Group A the Solaris 42 "Swiss Nautic One" under Martin Gusset took the lead. Saturday brought perfect sailing conditions. "Giovi" confirmed her strong form and secured overall victory in terms of both calculated and sailed time. In Group 0, the Solaris 60 "Crazy Diamond" triumphed under Enzo Pelizzaro, while in Group A the Solaris 44 "Pittilanto" with skipper Pierpaolo Zani secured first place.

Next Solaris Cup on the Adriatic

The award ceremony and the legendary crew party with live music and DJ sets were the grand finale of the event. The exuberant atmosphere lasted late into the night and underlined the community spirit that characterises the Solaris Cup. For the shipyard from Aquileia in Italy, it is more than just a regatta: it is a meeting of passionate owners, crews and partners and a symbolic start to the summer sailing season. Solaristi can already look forward to the next event: The Solaris Cup returns to the Adriatic in October. Parallel to the world-famous Barcolana the Barcolana Solaris Adriatic Cup 2025 will then take place - another highlight in the Solaris community's calendar.
