Conditions that the team from Münchner Yacht-Club coped with best and won the third match day. Mühlenberger Segel-Club was able to defend the top spot in the table.
On Friday, the sailing area on the inner fjord presented itself with moderate but constant wind conditions, which demanded great tactical skill and high concentration from the sailors. On the following Saturday, it was calm until 3 p.m., but two fights were still possible in the afternoon in very light winds. "On Sunday, on the other hand, we had the very best conditions," beamed Anke Nowak, Managing Director of the German Sailing League. "The sun and winds of six to 20 knots were a complete challenge for the league teams, and anyone who was successful today had to sail very attentively the whole time and react immediately to every small change."

Just like last year, the Munich Yacht Club (MYC) team won the match day in Kiel and improved to fifth place in the table. "We have a top team that has been sailing together for a few years now and is getting better and better," says team manager Michael Liebl. "The four guys all know each other from the 29er and then grew into league racing via our junior national league team. They have already won the Sailing Champions League qualification in this crew constellation." However, the MYC will be sending a junior team to the fourth match day of the 2024 Bundesliga sailing season, which will once again take place off Kiel, in order to give the club's youngsters their first league experience.
Second place on the podium in Kiel went to the team from Segel- und Motorboot Club Überlingen (SMCÜ), followed by Norddeutscher Regatta Verein (NRV). With a fourth place, Mühlenberger Segel-Club (MSC) was also able to narrowly defend its lead at the top of the table on the third match day, with a five-point advantage over second-placed SV03.
The SV03 finished the day in an unfortunate seventh place, tied on points with the Kieler Yacht-Club (5th place) and the Düsseldorfer Yacht-Club (6th place), with the best individual results in the flights deciding the ranking.
The fourth match day of the 1st Sailing Bundesliga and the third match day of the second division teams will also take place in Kiel from 30 August to 1 September 2024. The event will be hosted by Segelcamp Kiel on the Kiellinie. Spectators and fans will be able to follow the races on the water directly from the deckchairs with live moderation.
