Dennis Conner shows the first of his challenger yachts

Dennis Conner, four-time winner of the America's Cup, has unveiled the first of two new yachts with which he intends to bring the Cup back to the States. The presentation of the navy blue boat with white stripes took place during the christening ceremony, which was performed by Rose Dana, wife of the commodore of the New York Yacht Club Charles Dana.

Conner will start for NYYC, which would give him the chance to redeem himself. After all, he last represented the club in 1983, when he became the first American in history to lose the Cup.

The yacht cost two million US dollars and will bear the sail number USA66. It is not yet clear whether it will be possible to build the desired second yacht, which is necessary for optimal preparation.
