Shortly before the start of the 31st America's Cup off Auckland/New Zealand, the 1987 battle and the 2003 Louis Vuitton final can be seen once again.
Jochen Schümann, the only German ever to reach an America's Cup final, had only just won the first of his four medals when the American sailing monument Dennis Conner set about bringing the bottomless jug back from Australia for the San Diego Yacht Club. That was in 1987.
Starting at 18:28, Eurosport's "America's Cup Legends" programme will take another look back at the Americans' recapture of the Cup after losing it for the first time in 132 years in 1983.
From 10.02 pm, the best scenes from the Louis Vuitton Cup of the challengers from January will be shown once again with Jochen Schümann and skipper Russell Coutts from the victorious Swiss "Alinghi".
