A challenge from Australia was confirmed by the defender, at the same time there is apparently another, still anonymous report

The Australians' announcement was already accepted by the defender Oracle Racing on 11 January, as was announced today. With the addition of another unknown team, the number of challengers rises to seven.

The Australian team has not yet revealed much. In the message, which was published as a copy by the AC organiser, only the fact of the announcement itself is announced, but neither a sponsor nor a team name is mentioned. The website mentioned does not seem to exist either. Everything still seems to be knitted with a very hot needle.

Almost at the same time, the organiser announced the arrival of another team that does not yet wish to be named, bringing the total number of challengers to seven.

With the announcement of the Australian team, at least one of the previous speculations is no longer valid. The New Zealanders and the Russians were thought to be behind the two previous secret teams, but it is now clear that one of them was the Australians. Instead, there are now two secret teams again, one old, one new.

The official teams so far: Mascalzone Latino (Italy), Aleph (France), Artemis Racing (Sweden), Energy Team (France), Team Australia (Australia)
