According to regatta director Iain Murray, in addition to the first challenger, the Italian team Mascalzone Latino, which has been known since February, two other teams have already registered on the first day.
The entries will now be checked, it said. In future, the organiser will only announce when entries are received and when an entry has been accepted. The identity of the teams behind the entries will not be revealed. It is solely up to the teams to decide when they want to go public.
The registration phase lasts five months. Rumour has it that one of the teams is Artemis from Sweden. There will be a big announcement next Monday, 8 November.
