An unknown highlight: Louis Vuitton Cup, Round Robin 2: Only four teams advance, seven are eliminated

Make a note now! On 6 or 7 May 2007 it will be decided which four teams will progress to the semi-finals. Will the German team be there? It is already guaranteed to be a special, exciting day.

The first highlight before the Louis Vuitton Cup is 1 April 2007: the day of the unveiling. No April Fool's joke! The eleven challenging teams and defending champions Alinghi lift their aprons. In other words, they present the lower half of the hulls: the underwater hull, keel and rudder.

Of course, the entire America's Cup is exciting at every stage of the race. On 3 April 2007, the Louis Vuitton Cup Act 13 begins, in which the eleven teams will sail together with Alinghi in the fleet race for the last time. Round Robin 1 starts on 16 April 2007, where the eleven challengers will each sail twice against each other in the match race.

But an unknown highlight is the last day of Round Robin 2: 6 or 7 May 2007, when it will be decided whether top or bottom; only the four teams with the most points will start in the semi-finals on 14 May 2007. Anxious question: Will the German team UITG still be among the top four?

It will be a particularly exciting day for spectators, as the first major selection will take place here; the atmosphere will be correspondingly heated. If the sporting battle, the knock-out, is more important to you than, for example, the impressive images of twelve America's Cup sailors together in the field, this weekend is recommended as a tip for a trip to Valencia.
