Is Oracle BMW planning a joint venture with Team New Zealand?

The rumour mill has been buzzing ever since it was announced that Larry Ellison had handed over his position as managing director of the Oracle-BMW syndicate to his skipper Chris Dickson. There have been rumours of a possible connection between the New Zealand skipper and his compatriots from Team New Zealand.

Former OneWorld skipper Peter Gilmour, whose team is being disbanded, does not think such a joint venture is out of the question. It could be advantageous for both parties. It would be possible due to the significant relaxation of the nationality clause that Alinghi has stipulated in its protocol for the next Cup.

However, Team New Zealand says there has been no contact with Dickson so far. And he refuses to comment on the subject. However, he does not deny it either.
