The AC 45 from Oracle Racing lifts both hulls out of the water
An AC-45 catamaran in the air - new L-shaped blades make it possible. The Cup defender also experiments under water

The wing rigs of the AC-45 catamarans have only just become commonplace when the America's Cup defender Oracle Team USA comes up with the next innovation. The team is apparently experimenting with L-shaped centreboards off San Francisco, which lift the empty hull completely out of the water. The rudders are also fitted with a T-profile at the end. Is the technology of the large AC-72 cat already on show here?
