Ten days before the closing date, a seventh team registered, identity undisclosed. At the same time, the Swedes christened and tested their AC 45

The America's Cup management has announced that a further team submitted a challenge yesterday. This means that there are now seven challengers for the 34th America's Cup ten days before the first registration deadline on 31 March. However, late entries are still possible until the end of April, for a significantly higher fee.

This brings the total number of teams, including defender Oracle Racing, to eight, with challengers Mascalzone Latino (Challenger of Record), Artemis Racing, Emirates Team New Zealand, Aleph Team France, Energy Team, Team Australia and the current, as yet unnamed entry.

One of the really serious challenges is the Swedish team Artemis Racing. Not only is it very well financed by billionaire Torbjörn Tornquist, but it is also already making intensive preparations. Shortly after the New Zealanders, the Swedes also took delivery of their own AC-45 catamaran. It was christened on Sunday in New Zealand, and two days of training have already been completed.
