It is led by Bertrand Pacé, who has Cup experience, and multihull expert Alain Gautier. There is no mention of other previous French initiatives such as the Peyron brothers or Team All4one. However, a sponsor is not mentioned either.
The French Sailing Federation has given the team its blessing by confirming it as a challenger and authorising it to call itself Team Aleph Equipe de France.
This means that there are now three official challengers: Mascalzone Latino (Italy), Artemis (Sweden) and the French. A fourth team is rumoured to have entered, but has not yet been announced.
