If you don't have the chance to be there, you can still watch the races live
The opportunities for German fans have never been as good as in this edition of the Cup. The competition between Servus TV and Sky also ensures this. The TV programme!

With Servus TV and Sky, two broadcasters are offering German fans a full live programme for the 35th America's Cup - but in very different ways. While Servus TV will only broadcast the qualifying rounds (26 to 31 May, 2/3 June) live on the internet and in the original version, Sky will broadcast these two round robin rounds with the US defenders and the five challengers from the start on television - albeit for a fee. If you want to watch the qualifying rounds on Sky, first with commentary by Jochen Schümann and then by Oliver Schwall, you must be a subscriber or have one of the daily, weekly or monthly passes ( here the link).

On the other hand, Servus TV, with its already Cup-tested co-commentators, Olympic champions and Red Bull insiders Roman Hagara and Hans-Peter Steinacher, has an advantage when broadcasting the semi-finals of the Challenger Playoffs (4/6/7/8 June). The Austrians usually broadcast these live and free of charge on TV via Servus TV Deutschland from shortly before 7 p.m. (please note: the first match on 26 May starts at 10 p.m. as an exception! Fans can also enjoy the live entertainment almost simultaneously on Sky, but have to pay there.

From the final of the Challenger Playoffs onwards, both Servus TV and Sky (via free TV showcase Sky Sport News) will offer their live broadcasts free of charge. Television viewers will then be spoilt for choice and can either follow the Servus TV team with presenter Gerhard Leinauer and Roman Hagara or Hans-Peter Steinacher. The trio also reported on the 34th America's Cup in this combination. Or you can opt for Sky presenter Heiko Mallwitz in a duet with Jochen Schümann (commentating on the first of the two round-robin rounds in qualifying, the semi-finals of the Challenger Playoffs and the 35th America's Cup duel) alternating with Oliver Schwall (commentating on the second round-robin round of qualifying and the final of the Challenger Playoffs).

Tatjana “tati” Pokorny is the author of nine books. As a reporter for Europe's leading sailing magazine YACHT, she also works as a correspondent for the German Press Agency (DPA), the Hamburger Abendblatt and other national and international media. In summer 2024, Tatjana will be reporting from Marseille on her ninth consecutive Olympic Games. Other core topics have been the America's Cup since 1992, the Ocean Race since 1993, the Vendée Globe and other national and international regattas and their protagonists. Favorite discipline: Portraits of and interviews with sailing personalities. When she started out in sports journalism, she was still intensively involved with basketball and other sports, but sailing quickly became her main focus. The reason? The declared optimist says: “There is no other sport like it, no other sport with such interesting and intelligent personalities, no other sport so diverse, no other sport so full of energy, strength and ideas. Sailing is like a constantly refreshing declaration of love for life."
