"NV Hamburg" was the first to arrive in Scotland under skipper Georg Christiansen

29 yachts started the 400 nautical mile regatta from Helgoland to Edinburgh at the end of the North Sea Week.

Harm Müller-Röhlck's Drabant 33 "Okke" from Bremen won the long-distance race of the North Sea Week. She crossed the finish line in the Scottish harbour city after three days, eight hours and eight minutes. The experienced skipper from the sailing club Das Wappen von Bremen, who has also skippered several legs of the Round the World Race, particularly thanked his crew, who had achieved a great feat with the small ship.

The regatta offered everything the North Sea has in store for sailors in spring. Calm and strong winds alternated. Further class victories went to "Nirvana" (Jens Harms), "Wappen von Bremen" (Rainer Persch), "Silicia" (Horst Lüntzmann) and of course the "Okke".
