The title sponsor of Kieler Woche presents Tony Kolb, Hans-Joachim Stuck and a varied programme

The BMW boat harbour will be one of the highlights of the traditional Kiel Week from 19 June. In the middle of the city centre of the Schleswig-Holstein state capital - and yet very close to the racing events in Schilksee.

BMW first appeared as a partner of Kieler Woche in 2003. On the occasion of this year's 122nd edition of the world's largest regatta event, the automotive group is expanding its activities: BMW presents the Kieler Woche - and within its commitment as title sponsor with the BMW boat harbour a platform with a varied programme.

In addition to the tried-and-tested shuttle service for sailors, organisers and guests, the BMW boat harbour will offer information and entertainment on all aspects of water sports. Visitors will be able to follow the highlights of the Schilksee regattas and interviews on screen. The sailing magazine will also provide pictures of the UBS Trophy and the duel between Alinghi and BMW Oracle Racing in Newport, USA.

Prominent guests are expected on 22 June. Formula 1 expert and BMW brand ambassador Hans-Joachim Stuck and German sailing pro Tony Kolb will pay a visit to the BMW boat harbour. Kolb was introduced last week in Munich as a new member of the BMW Oracle Racing team.

Another foretaste of the America's Cup 2007: In the BMW boat harbour, the USA 61, a high-tech racing yacht that has already witnessed many an exciting match race in the battle for the world's oldest sailing trophy, can be admired. The BMW "Virtual Match Race" will be drier, but by no means less dramatic. On the sailing simulator, two visitors try to make up crucial metres in a duel against each other. Worthwhile: a winner is determined every day and attractive prizes await them.

Another eye-catcher is the new BMW 1 Series. Insights into the vehicle technology of tomorrow are provided in the BMW boat harbour by an exhibition on BMW Clean Energy and driving with hydrogen as an alternative drive concept of the future. Meanwhile, the youngest guests will have the opportunity to demonstrate their driving skills: With baby racers and kids' bikes, the latest BMW lifestyle products, they can take to the test track.
