It was a somewhat tough business in the end. While the yachts made reasonably good progress shortly after the start in Helgoland, the majority of the field later found themselves in a tiring battle for every mile in the Pantaenius Round Skagen at the end of the North Sea Week.
The STP 65 "Milan" of Dr Uwe Lebens from Hamburg clearly dominated the field and arrived in Kiel as "First Ship Home" by a wide margin after 500 miles and 2:15 days. Then the waiting began. And the maths. The "Hinden" of Jonas Hallberg (Kieler Yacht-Club), which was only half as long, took almost exactly one day longer, but finished first according to the calculated time.
