From 1977 to 1984, the Campe family, four children and a teacher sailed around the world on the steel schooner "St. Michel", travelling remote routes. The project was financed by a travel documentary, which the self-taught filmmaker shot at the highest level for public television. At the time, the footage was broadcast in 13 episodes under the title "Sailing around the world with family".
After Campe Senior ( Interview in YACHT 22/2019 ) once again circumnavigated the world in his old age on the same boat, the public started to take notice again. In an interview with YACHT, Joachim Campe revealed what drives him and what he wants to convey.
In addition, the spectacular documentaries will gradually be made available from 14 March on the YouTube channel Sailing Learning By Doing on the internet.
