One of the major events on the regatta calendar is coming up - and promises excitement not only for the 1,400 participants, but also for visitors

The Travemünde Week is back on track. With top-class regattas and a festival programme with art, culinary delights, parties and visual delights, it's back on course.

The 133rd edition of Regatta Week officially opens this evening. After that, Lübeck's fifth season will begin until Sunday, 31 July, with an exciting sailing programme and the return of the festival to the promenades of the Trave and Baltic Sea.

With the Formula 16 and Yngling World Championships, the final of the Sailing Champions League, several European Championships and four German Championships, competitions of the highest international calibre are on offer.

But in addition to exciting races on the water, the Travemünde Week aims to impress above all with its supporting programme for the whole family. From morning to evening, there will be something on offer throughout the week to keep the excitement levels high, especially after the pandemic lockdown.

This year's highlights include the music programme on the stage at the Nordermole, the beach club on the beach, the Bavarian and Holstein beer gardens, the wine square and the entertainment programme for children in the Brügmanngarten. In addition, there will be the evening glow of lights on the "Passat" and the famous closing fireworks display on 31 July at 10.45 pm.

Also new in the programme is a TV stage on the Nordermole, which offers an evening show with talk guests, sailing videos and information about the Travemünde Week.

"A Travemünde Week is always time-consuming. But corona has left its mark," says Managing Director Frank Schärffe. "Nevertheless, we can say: Travemünde Week is here to stay!" he adds proudly and with great anticipation.
