The best impressions of the Ibiza JoySail 2023
The third edition of the Ibiza JoySail superyacht regatta impressed with fantastic shots and a record number of participants. In light wind conditions, well-known yachts as well as some sailing stars took part

"We love this event!" said Juan Ball after this year's Ibiza JoySail. He and his Swan 115 "Moat" were crowned three-time winners of the event for the third year. He and his crew also beat their sister ship "Jasi" in a spectacular duel.

"Moat" won the performance class in dominant fashion, crossing the finish line first in all three races. The "All Smoke" (SW-RP 90) came third and also beat the "Kiboko Tres" (SW 105) on the final day, which came fourth overall but won the Corinthian Class.

In the Performance Cruising class, the Swan 80 "Dark Horse" also took first place for the first time with three daily victories. In the World Cruising category, the Dykstra 111 "Aurelius" triumphed: double winner, both in her class and in the Corinthian classification

"Svea" with Bouwe Bekking and Steve Hayles: Ocean Race experience in superyacht regatta

The J-Class "Svea" secured victory in the Kohler Cup. With co-owner Niklas Zennström at the helm and plenty of ocean racing experience in the person of Bouwe Bekking as tactician and Steve Hayles as navigator, the crew won all three races. The "Topaz" also competed with race crew manager Tim Kröger. He was also delighted with the superyacht event: "The organisation on the water was perfect and well executed. Unfortunately, we didn't have much wind, but the team did their best!"

Despite the difficult wind conditions due to the high pressure area that lay over the Mediterranean throughout the week, the race committee was able to organise a race every day. However, a new record on the Palma-Ibiza route could not be set on the first day, as the wind was barely more than six knots on all four days. This pushed the fleet to the limit, but the reward for this was the fantastic weather with plenty of sunshine in addition to the fantastic backdrop of Ibiza. The prize-giving ceremony was also a success, with a great atmosphere and plenty of entertainment. The next edition of Ibiza JoySail will take place from 19 to 22 September 2024.
