Folkboats: International German Championship in Berlin
The 2019 German champion is Thomas Metzing. Together with Juergen Temp and Jürgen Buhtz, he sailed to victory on FG 1091 "Saga" from the PYC in difficult conditions

Walter Furthmann from the Strande Yacht Club was runner-up. On his FG 466 "Paula", he, Hans Christian Mrowka and Wolfgang Heck laid the foundations for this success in the very first race with a win on the day, with just two points separating the Kiel team from the German champions at the end.

Udo Pflüger followed in third place with the FG 905 "Mad Mongoose". With Theodor Gringel and Sven Müller, all from VSaW, the second Berlin crew made it onto the podium, incidentally with almost identical results to the runners-up - just in a different order.

The 2019 Nordic Folkboat IDM kicked off in Berlin in fantastic late summer conditions. SV03 Berlin had cleared its harbour for the 39 participating folk boats and kept the sailors happy even in the increasingly difficult weather conditions.
