Rough conditions on the course - the order of the day in the rainy tidal area
For the fifth time, yachts from William Fife came together on the River Clyde in Scotland for a family reunion. Impressions of a very special event

In the scene, the Fife Regatta high up on the bucket list. The yachts from the William Fifes I-III family dynasty, recognisable by the stylised dragon's head on the bow, have a very special air about them. Many of them are in the best possible condition, are sailed intensively and are return regularly to the River Clyde where the owners sail against each other and celebrate together.

This year, the area once again proved what it is made of. From soft to hard winds, weather conditions from sun to fog. Photographer Götz Göppert has captured the magical atmosphere and the tough battles.

Annoying for the crew of "The Lady Anne" - the topmast came down from above in a gust. Nobody was injured, but the race was over for the time being.

Born in Kiel, grew up on the water and on board, trained as a sailor in the club and sailing on the North and Baltic Seas. After school, navy and legal training, he worked as a trainee at YACHT from 2007-2009 in the Panorama department, which he now heads.
