For the second time this summer, classic wooden rigid boats will meet on Lake Zurich on 17 and 18 August

At the end of August, a meeting of classic rigid boats will take place on Lake Zurich for the second time. The event is organised by the Zurich Yacht Club together with the Oldtimer Boat Club Zürichsee on the occasion of the annual "Old Fashion Race".

With ten boats from three countries registered so far, an initial target has been reached. However, registration is still open and the organisers are happy to welcome any additional participants.

All boats built with wooden hulls in accordance with ISCYRA rules - traditional or modernised, with wooden or aluminium rigging - are eligible to take part.

Lasse Johannsen

Deputy Editor in Chief YACHT

Born in Kiel, grew up on the water and on board, trained as a sailor in the club and sailing on the North and Baltic Seas. After school, navy and legal training, he worked as a trainee at YACHT from 2007-2009 in the Panorama department, which he now heads. He is also responsible for the special edition of YACHT classic, has published several books with Delius-Klasing and is deputy editor-in-chief of YACHT. Johannsen is an enthusiastic cruising sailor on his own keel and an active supporter of the German classic boat scene.
