Dream ship or nightmare? An HR 352 that has run aground
Buying a yacht that has sunk in the Caribbean in order to sail it to Europe is a risk. Especially if you don't know anything about boats or sailing

Stefan Kluge emigrated to the Caribbean three years ago. At some point, he got it into his head to buy a boat. It had to be good and big - and of course cheap. He actually finds what he is looking for. A Hallberg-Rassy 352 is available at an exceptionally low price. Not without reason: it had already been submerged up to the main boom because a hose had not been connected properly during an engine renovation.

Kluge falls head over heels in love with the boat and buys it. He has no idea about boats, let alone boatbuilding, and he doesn't really know how to sail either. And so what has to happen, happens: The rookie has to learn the hard way.

In a multi-part series, Stefan Kluge writes refreshingly honestly about the setbacks he encounters when refitting the HR and during his first sailing endeavours. The first part iscan now be read in the new YACHT (issue 3/2020, available now in magazine shops and as Digital edition available).
