Despite Herrmann's friendly and cheerful video messages from on board his "Seaexplorer", it was possible to guess what a tough test the Vendée Globe is for man and material. In his new book "Alone between sky and sea", Boris Herrmann takes the reader on this fast-paced journey around the world in eighty days - and into his inner self. On 320 pages, the exceptional sailor and his co-author Andreas Wolfers, also an enthusiastic sailor with long-distance experience, capture the enormous mental challenges as well as the uniquely beautiful moments at sea.
The book will be on sale from 20 September 2021. In advance, on Thursday 16 September from 7.30 pm, the two will read from it in Hamburg's Laeiszhalle. Few Tickets are still available for the reading.
And for all those who can't wait: An exclusive preprint of Herrmann's book "Allein zwischen Himmel und Meer" will appear in YACHT 19/2021 (at newsagents from 8 September) and a second part in YACHT 20/2021 (at newsagents from 22 September).
