The "Bonavera" in its shipyard under the tent roof
The boat builder Per Heck has passed away. An interested party is now being sought to continue his "Bonavera" project. He would get the half-finished yacht for free

In the summer, architect Per Heck, whom YACHT portrayed in April of this year, died unexpectedly of cancer. His former partner is now looking for someone to take on his maritime legacy: the 48-foot yacht "Bonavera".

Firstly, however, the ship is a somewhat exotic design - more of a cosy motorsailer with traditional lines, a centre cockpit and deckhouse with inside steering position and second saloon. And secondly, it is not yet finished. We are therefore looking for an enthusiast who is prepared to invest in the completion of the yacht. In return, he would receive her free of charge.

The "Bonavera" is currently still in its "tent roof shipyard", a hangar made of plastic tarpaulins and roof battens in Eckernförde. However, the rental contract for the site has already been cancelled and the ship will have to disappear from there soon. However, it would cost a considerable sum to dispose of it properly, so the idea was born to leave it to someone who would like to complete the work.

The construction project, which has been running since 2006, is relatively well known thanks to a feature-length documentary film: "Sag dem Wind, dass ich bald komme" by Till Hartmann and Erik Wittbusch. The film is under this link can also be seen online.
