In the end, there are over 760 nautical miles on the log. Behind the sober number lie exciting, beautiful, dreamlike, stormy, but also worrying days. Days that the young sailors Saskia Ungruhe and Alexander Paulus from near Regensburg have spent on their H-boat. Not on their home lake, but in the south, on the Mediterranean.
This is not really an area for such a small boat. And the "Gin Tonic" is not equipped for weeks of living on board. But that doesn't stop the pair from going ahead with their plan. They refit their boat, make it ready to sail, trailer it across the Alps and take it into salt water near Genoa.
From then on, a journey begins that takes the sailors to new shores, both literally and in reality, but also to their personal limits. They describe their experiences and what happened to them in a gripping account of their journey."Big trip in a small boat" in the new YACHT (issue 2/2022; available now in magazine shops and as a digital edition in the YACHT app and can be ordered directly here).
