After an initial meeting of participants on the weekend of 31 May, the tour will start on Monday, 2 June in Kiel-Schilksee. From there, they will sail together to the lock in Holtenau, through the Kiel Canal to Rendsburg and on to Brunsbüttel the next day. On 4 June, the squadron will pass through the locks and sail on together to Cuxhaven. Yachts already moored in the North Sea have the opportunity to join the fleet here and take part in the squadron voyage from then on. On Thursday, 5 June, this will take them to Helgoland, where a shore programme will take place on 6 and 7 June and the regatta on the 8th. From 9 June, the squadron will then sail back to Kiel along the same route.
The fleet's aim is to take part in the Capitell Cup Rund Helgoland, either in the overall ranking or in a special ranking for the DSV fleet. The traditional regatta around the red rock celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025. It will be organised as part of the North Sea Week, which is taking place for the 90th time this year.
Part of the squadron trip is a social get-together with the numerous regatta crews taking part in the North Sea Week, a joint tour of the island with its eventful history and the opportunity to exchange ideas and talk shop directly with the team from the DSV Cruising and Leisure Sailing Department.
On Wednesday 13 November 2024 at 6.30 pm, an information event will be held for all interested parties at the DSV premises in Gründgensstraße 18, 22309 Hamburg. Those who are unable to attend in person can register online. At the meeting, sailors can get to know each other and exchange ideas, details of the trip will be presented and questions answered.
The registration deadline for participation in the squadron trip is 15 March 2025 and the DSV has set up a page where interested parties can register. You will then receive all further information, the dial-in link for the information event and then the opportunity to make a binding registration.
The cost per participating yacht will be 499 euros, which includes the lock fees in Holtenau and Brunsbüttel, the trip through the Kiel Canal, the harbour fees in Rendsburg, Brunsbüttel, Cuxhaven and on Helgoland as well as participation in the regatta. Not included in the price are the costs for personal equipment, provisions and catering in the harbours and fuel.
