The electric drive specialist has completely redesigned its Travel model. Now it is barely audible in operation
Torqeedo has revised its Travel electric outboard motor. The biggest change is the direct drive, the gearbox has been removed. As a result, the drive unit has become slightly larger under water, but the new Travel 1103 C is now in whisper mode: according to the manufacturer, the whisk is now only 33 decibels quiet.
Together with the largest 915 watt-hour battery, the electric outboard is said to produce 1100 watts and weigh 17 kilograms. This makes it suitable as a drive for boats up to 1.5 tonnes - which is equivalent to a combustion engine with 3 hp. Its price: 2200 euros.
