Almost identical in construction to the Mercury F5MLH, our test Tohatsu performed even better and was more economical. Extras such as the additional carrying handle score points

The Tohatsu MFS5DD is part of a Comparative tests in the 5 hp outboard class

The engine is almost identical to the Mercury F5MLH, but has a different cover and an additional handle at the rear, which makes it easier to carry and, above all, to lift over the railing. With a 1.2-litre tank and a full-throttle range of 20 kilometres, the engine is ideal for dinghies.

  • + Very economical

  • + Compact and easy to carry
  • - No sticker for storage
