For outboards in this power range, portability is key and Mercury's 2.5-6 hp FourStrokes are among the lightest outboards in this class. Every portable Mercury FourStroke is packed with features, from the automatic reverse lock to the convenient integrated fuel tank.

These FourStrokes undergo the same corrosion resistance procedures as our higher power class products. These small outboards are packed with a wide range of features. From variable trim and shallow water positions (on our 4 - 5 - 6 hp models) to tiller with 360 degree steering (on our 2.5-3.5 hp models), you'll find the power and versatility you need for any situation. Starting is easy thanks to automatic decompression, which depressurises the cylinders when starting, reducing the tractive force required to start the engine.

With their low weight (25 kg dry weight) and conveniently positioned carrying handles with a large grip area, it's no problem to give your boat more power. And because these lightweight outboards are subject to our rigorous testing standards, you get the reliability you can expect from any Mercury outboard.
