The Fachverband Seenot-Rettungsmittel e. V. (FSR) is taking a new approach to informing water sports enthusiasts about important aspects of maritime emergencies and prevention: The most important and recurring questions are answered competently and in a user-friendly way in a film series. This is based on enquiries that have reached the FSR via a wide variety of channels. The videos so far have focussed on life jackets, rescue equipment, pyrotechnics and electronic aids.
Smoke pots, parachute signalling rockets and hand flares are important life-saving equipment for drawing attention to an emergency at sea. Who is authorised to purchase them, how they work, when they are obsolete and much more is explained in this training video from the series:
Of course, not every area has been covered exhaustively, but the programme will be continuously expanded in response to demand. The FSR collects topics and continues to develop the film series.
