The new issue of YACHT features a major practical test that is relevant for every sailor: eleven inland and offshore oilskin models had to show which really keep out the rain, provide sufficient warmth and still allow enough freedom of movement. After all, oilskins have to do more than just keep out the rain - they have to provide reliable protection against wind, waves and weather. Our testers have extensively tested the oilskins and show what really matters when buying.

In addition to this multifunctional equipment check, the magazine presents two detailed boat tests: The Sun Odyssey 455 is the new flagship in Jeanneau's cruising series and has to prove whether it not only scores points for size, but also for performance, equipment and comfort. The 14-metre yacht is set to set standards in terms of comfort and space.

And to mark the tenth anniversary of the Greifswald YYachts shipyard, there is a detailed report on the new Y7, a 22-metre carbon cruiser. Company boss Michael Schmidt took the editorial team on board the "Beati" for a test sail.

Cruise to Brittany for connoisseurs

The country, the people, the sailing area and the culinary offerings attract visitors to the coast of Brittany in summer. This detailed cruise tip is aimed at connoisseurs who want to enjoy sporty sailing and delicious food. Brittany offers both in combination. The report whets the appetite for a trip to this region and shows what sailors can expect there.

Denmark's sailing areas are varied and changing. This issue shows what sailors can expect there in 2026. There is also news to report from the harbours and favourite sailing areas of many German sailors. Danish waters are among the most popular sailing areas in the Baltic Sea region.

At the same time, we present a portrait of the Swedish island of Landsort. Traditionally, the men of the island were employed as pilots. Much of its maritime heritage can still be seen today. The shore excursion takes you through the past and present of this special island, which is closely linked to seafaring.

Professional boat disposal

Getting rid of an old ship in a professional and environmentally friendly way is not that easy. Our report shows how professional scrappers work. The disposal of boats presents owners with challenges, as different materials have to be separated and disposed of properly. The editorial team accompanied scrappers in their work and documented the process from acceptance to complete recycling. The topic is becoming increasingly important as many boats from the seventies and eighties are reaching the end of their service life.
