The low-budget cake stand
The affordable alternative to the cake stand comes from the outdoor accessories range and can be set up in seconds

With small cruisers in particular, any additional living space is appreciated, so a cake stand is a must. Instead of an expensive and sometimes bulky customised tent, we use a throw tent. These tents are available in different widths and the inner tent should be easy to remove. Comparable to an igloo tent, they can be erected in no time at all because there are no poles to thread.

As the tents are designed for hiking tours, the weight is pleasingly low. A three-person tent was ideal for our Fan 23. It covers the entire cockpit, including the sprayhood, and can be quickly and securely attached with a few tacks. Another advantage is that throwaway tents are surprisingly cheap - you can get a usable version for around 60 to 70 euros. With a bit of luck and the right seasonal offer at a discounter, it can be even cheaper. As everything is very flexible, we have had no problems up to wind force 6.
