One of the challenges of overhead painting is not spilling paint on yourself. A plastic nozzle for cartridges can be helpful here. The tip is cut off far enough so that the brush handle can be pushed in with a little force. The resulting collar catches any paint that runs off. However, this only works with very small brushes - but it is particularly useful when painting corners that are difficult to access. And in such situations, you can't keep enough distance to avoid dripping paint.
