Philipp Buhl and Erik Heil will have to work a bit of magic to realise their guest appearance tomorrow on Aktuelle Sportstudio between regatta day one and race day two of Kiel Week. The Laser European Champion and the World Cup winner in the 49er will be flown to Mainz in a chartered plane after their first races on Saturday to talk to Michael Steinbrecher in the evening about Kiel Week, their Youth America's Cup project "All In Racing" and their Olympic goals.

Joining us from Kiel is Germany's most successful sailor Jochen Schümann. He had recently criticised the Youth America's Cup. Because ZDF is broadcasting the match between Italy and hosts Brazil in the FIFA Confederations Cup (Confed Cup) beforehand, the Aktuelle Sportstudio programme will not start until 11 p.m. this Saturday.

ARD and NDR will also be reporting intensively on Kiel Week. The world's largest regatta will be the subject of two Sunday sports shows on 23 and 30 June between 6 and 6.30 pm. The magazine programme "NDR aktuell" will show pictures from Kiel Week on 26 June from 9.45 pm and the regional "Schleswig-Holstein 18 Uhr" will remain faithful to Kiel Week every day. Deutsche Welle will also be on site, as will SAT 1, RTL and other regional and national broadcasters with their TV teams.

"It is already clear that the most has been done in the area of TV. With Kieler Woche TV in German and English, the cooperation with Nautical Channel, ORF and Servus TV as well as DVB-T on channel 52 from 21st June, Kiel Week can also be experienced outside of Schilksee," said Nikolaus Rickers, Chairman of the Kieler Woche Regatta Committee and Managing Director of the Kieler Woche marketing agency Point of Sailing.

Sailing galore from morning to night is available for all fans directly in the heart of Kiel Week at the Schilksee Olympic Centre. The Audi Sailing Arena has been redesigned for sailors and spectators. A moderated programme with live broadcasts, pictures from the courses on the big screen, interviews with winners and losers as well as the award ceremonies will be presented here for nine days.

Tatjana “tati” Pokorny is the author of nine books. As a reporter for Europe's leading sailing magazine YACHT, she also works as a correspondent for the German Press Agency (DPA), the Hamburger Abendblatt and other national and international media. In summer 2024, Tatjana will be reporting from Marseille on her ninth consecutive Olympic Games. Other core topics have been the America's Cup since 1992, the Ocean Race since 1993, the Vendée Globe and other national and international regattas and their protagonists. Favorite discipline: Portraits of and interviews with sailing personalities. When she started out in sports journalism, she was still intensively involved with basketball and other sports, but sailing quickly became her main focus. The reason? The declared optimist says: “There is no other sport like it, no other sport with such interesting and intelligent personalities, no other sport so diverse, no other sport so full of energy, strength and ideas. Sailing is like a constantly refreshing declaration of love for life."
