As usual, the state capital of Kiel and the Dänischenhagen office are announcing the closure of several marinas for the winter season. From 15 November 2025 to 14 March 2026, a total of nine ports in the Kiel Fjord will remain closed for reasons of general security, as stated in two current notices to mariners.

In accordance with Section 5 (3) of the State Harbour Ordinance, the Port Authority of the State Capital of Kiel has ordered the closure of eight public pleasure craft harbours for the 2025/2026 winter season. The measure applies from 15 November 2025 to 14 March 2026 and affects the Schilksee Olympic Harbour with the North and South basins as well as the public transport jetty in the South Harbour. The Stickenhörn (jetties 1 to 4), Wik and Düsternbrook marinas, the Blücherhafen harbour on the Kiellinie and the Reventlou, Seeburg and Dietrichsdorf marinas will also be closed. During the closure period, the jetty and entrance lighting in the affected harbours will be switched off.

Closure of the Strander harbour

At the same time, the Dänischenhagen office is ordering the closure of the Strande marina for the same period. Urgent maintenance work will be carried out here from 16 November 2025 to 14 March 2026. The closure includes jetties 1 to 4 and the harbour apron, with an exception for winter storage boats moored there. Use of the bridges and jetties in the closed part of the harbour is not permitted during this time. Only jetties 5, 6 and 7, the fishing jetty and the eastern pier will remain accessible to authorised persons.

During the winter months, there will be further restrictions on operations at Strander Hafen harbour. The waste bins will be withdrawn and the waste oil collection point will remain closed. The harbour will be converted to winter lighting, although the pier lighting will remain in operation. Water sports enthusiasts should note that the harbour office will not be manned and VHF communication will not be possible. The measures are aimed at general hazard prevention and at the same time enable necessary maintenance work to be carried out during the low season.
