Grand Soleil is expanding its range in the large yacht segment. With the new Plus line, Cantiere del Pardo is targeting owners who are looking for a sailing yacht over 60 feet and want to be much more involved in the design.
The focus is on elegance, quality, comfort and a high degree of customisation. Grand Soleil Plus is not only intended to summarise larger yachts, but also to create a different relationship between shipyard and owner: Each yacht is created from a direct exchange with the client.
The Plus line includes Grand Soleil models above 60 feet. Two configurations are available: Performance and Long Cruise.
The Performance range is aimed at owners who want to combine size and comfort with sporty sailing characteristics. The line includes
The Long Cruise range is designed more for comfortable long-distance sailing. The programme here includes
Grand Soleil is thus structuring its range in the upper segment more clearly than before. The Plus line stands for those yachts in which the equipment, layout and technical systems can be customised to the owner's wishes.
A central component of the Plus Line is the involvement of the owner at an early stage of the project. Together with a dedicated team, the layout, materials, surfaces, technical systems and equipment details are to be determined.
The aim is to create a yacht that not only suits the Grand Soleil brand, but also the owner's personal style and usage profile. The Plus line is therefore closer to a semi-custom approach than to classic series yacht construction.
This proximity to the owner is particularly important for yachts over 60 feet. The boats are often built for very different usage scenarios: sporty sailing, long-distance cruising, private family use, prestigious stays on board or a mixture of these.
Cantiere del Pardo emphasises the completely in-house production of Grand Soleil Plus. From laminating the hull to final assembly, all key production steps are to take place at the shipyard.
This gives the shipyard more control over quality, deadlines, technical execution and coordination between the individual trades. At the same time, the use of high-quality components emphasises the reliability and value of the yachts.
For Grand Soleil, this point is also part of the brand promise: quality craftsmanship, controlled processes and a finish that matches the shipyard's premium standards.
For the development of the Plus line, Cantiere del Pardo relies on a team with clearly distributed tasks. As project manager, Franco Corazza is overseeing the development. He brings experience as an entrepreneur and regatta sailor and will coordinate the individual project phases.
Matteo Polli, who has particular experience in optimising regatta yachts, is responsible for the design. Marco Lostuzzi is responsible for the structures, building on previous Cantiere del Pardo projects.
Nauta Design is responsible for the general layout, the deck design and the interiors. The design is intended to combine modern, elegant lines with functionality.
Even after construction, the Plus Line focuses on closer support for owners. An international VIP service will offer round-the-clock support, for example for technical questions, individual concerns or quick solutions during use.
Cantiere del Pardo is thus shifting the line's aspirations beyond the product. Grand Soleil Plus is not only intended to be a yacht series, but also a supervised owner's programme for large yachts.
With Grand Soleil Plus, Cantiere del Pardo is sharpening its position in the large sailing yacht segment. The shipyard combines several developments that are becoming increasingly important in the upper yacht segment: greater customisation, controlled production, brand service and a clear distinction between sporty performance and comfortable long-distance cruising.
For Grand Soleil, the Plus line represents a further step towards larger, more personalised yachts. The name not only stands for additional length, but also for more influence of the owner on the finished boat.
