Summer highlight far away from the crowds: Falling dry in the area between the East Frisian islands
Sandbanks, tideways, tidal creeks: the areas along the German North Sea coast offer many special features that are worth discovering. Download the report in PDF format

Lined up like pearls on a string are seven islands with long sandy beaches and quaint marinas off the East Frisian North Sea coast: Borkum, Juist, Norderney, Baltrum, Langeoog, Spiekeroog and Wangerooge. Visiting them all in just one week's sailing is quite ambitious. However, as described in the one-way trip in the big East Frisia report, you can still explore some of the most beautiful places in this region at your leisure.

Enchanting islands and challenging sailing

Navigating in tidal waters poses one or two challenges for crews. However, with a little preparation and in the right weather window, it soon becomes clear that tidal navigation is not only challenging, but also fun - for example when the tidal current pushes the boat towards its destination at three knots from astern.
