Newcomers to the North Sea coast are particularly reluctant to discover the wonderful world of the tidal flats. In fact, a whole range of factors need to be taken into account and brought into line for a safe trip: Tides and currents, wind, waves and shifting sands. What at first seems a little confusing can, however, be put together sensibly in just a few steps.
We describe the special features of the Wadden Sea and show simple ways to calculate a trip. There are also lots of practical tips - on anchoring and falling dry and the most beautiful places, informative websites and the rules of the road in the World Heritage Site.
